As time is spent with loved ones this week, remember to keep food safety top of the list.
Here are a few tips to help prevent food poisoning:
Do not wash the turkey. Washing items such as turkey can spread more germs around the kitchen
Do wash hands after handle raw meats. Dirty hands can spread germs
Do not cross contaminate. Clean and sanitize all work surfaces
Do ensure all parts of the turkey are cooked to 165F
Use a tip sensitive thermometer
Do not leave foods out for more than 2 hours.
